How to generate ppk file from pem file

Step1: Login to your AWS account.

Step2: Download putty & puttygen by using the below link.

Note-: Key which we have downloaded while creating key-pair in key-pair tutorial  is with .pem extension which is not supported by the putty. Puttygen will help to convert file format supported by the putty i.e .ppk .

Step3: Open Puttygen and load the key which you have downloaded while creating Key-pair

Step4: Click on Save the private key to save private key at location which you want.
Note-:
Save the with .ppk extension at location you want.

Step5: Now open putty & specify your Public_IP or Public_Domain_Name under  Hostname(or IP address)

Step6: Under Connection expand the SSH by clicking on + sign.

Step7: Select option Auth option under the SSH & specify your private key path by clicking on Browse , click on Open.

Select Demokey.ppk or Key-pair created by you with .ppk extensionPrivate_Key_Path_Putty
Step8:
Enter the login name to complete the final step.
